Endellion String Quartet at Portaferry Proms

What a treat at the weekend, I was delighted to get last minute tickets to the Endellion String Quartet on Saturday, Haydn, Janacek and Beethoven.  I cant recall the opus numbers but it was a real experience to hear the beautiful music resounding around the dramatic setting of the Greek revival Portaferry Presbyterian Church.

Jubilee celebrations on Strangford Lough

I avoided all the Jubilee hype spent week end on a paradise island on Strangford Lough enjoying the extremes of weather. Sunday was blissfully storm bound with no gadgets and we escaped the virtual world for 24 hours.

The Civilization game

I went to the Lyric theatre in Belfast last week to see this suspense comedy it was  gripping; the intensity was captivating as the story of the 2 middle class couples unfolded after a burglar arrives.  The middle class way of life its weaknesses and its falseness was portrayed with supreme skill.

Better Boy

I went with my father to see ‘Better Boy’  by Jack Foster of Kabosh Theatre on the new Belfast barge apart from the perfect setting on water the play was a fascinating portrayal of  the characters of my Uncles Willie Pirrie who did the monologue and his nephew Uncle Tommie.
