Mens wool socks

Mens wool socks with natural wicking and insulating properties are the ultimate comfort for feet. Clatteringford have a good range of mens wool socks using blends of Merino, cashmere and alpaca wool.

The Merino is a fine-woolled white sheep, originating in Spain. After having been introduced to the Australian continent in the late 1700's, today Merino Wool has become the ultimate wool fibre for premier textile products. The Merino produces a heavy fleece of exceptional quality that is extremely soft, resembling the texture of cashmere. In addition to comfort, Merino wool provides resilience, natural thermal properties, long lasting durability and appearance retention.

Merino Wool keeps your skin dry by allowing the sweat vapours through, before the sweat becomes wetness on your skin. The natural wicking properties of merino wool helps prevent blistering and to date is one of the best natural fibres for socks. Merino blends beautifully with cashmere due to its fineness and softness. These merino mens wool socks are available from Clatteringford in a range of attractive colours and come in a chunky knit suitable to wear around the house and brilliantly warm for use in wellingtons and boots.

Also available are baby alpaca mens wool socks. These are a lighter weight sock suitable to be worn in everyday shoes. The term 'baby' simply means from the first shearing of the season, which is the softest fleece, it does not relate to the age of the animal. With the same wicking and insulating properties as merino but with the added bonus of the alpaca fibre being hollow. This breathable and hollow fibre will regulate temperature better than any other fibre keeping your feet super comfortable and cosy.
